Starting a new print 'Zine called "Things From a Place". I'd love to get some of you guys involved if you're interested!
It's going to be about everything. With any luck, we'll get some articles, comics, photos and recipies going, all in lo-fi photochoppy* glory.
The goal of the project is to get everybody thinking outside of the day-to-day routine and do something that gets the ol' creativity out and exercising.
Want to submit? Get it to me by Dec. 11 to make it in the first issue. justin@yellerdog.com
*adj: to paste together a bunch of Xerox-elements. similar to "Photoshoppy," but with more scissors and fewer undo keys.$BlogItemBody$>
HOW BOUT WE DO MARJI DRAW'RINS!!! WHETHER IT BE FROM ONE OF HER MANY NAMES OR ALIASES.. OR JUST SOMETHING THAT SENORITA FORTIN WOULD BE STOKED ON.. GOOD?... GO!!!!
Two challenges this month, because we slacked off last month.
Carried over, Lars' "CREATE A VILLAIN WITH NO ANGLES OR POINTS (ONLY CURVES), AND ONLY USING COOL COLORS."
Additionally, several parties are requesting 'breasts,' so it's breasts. That's not SO hard, so obviously the challenge is keeping it tasteful.$BlogItemBody$>
My cartoon Email!! won second place in the field of animation this weekend at the Macon Georgia Film and Video Festival. My other screened animation WTF!? and the winning cartoon are both available on my website. I won't direct link them due to the mature content of those toons. I'm sure most of you guys have seen them anyway.
I won a handsome print-out on card stock that informs all readers of my status as a winner, money to buy groceries or dirty magazines, and my girlfriend made me cupcakes. Funfetti cupcakes. I found them to be both fun and fetti.$BlogItemBody$>
I wish there was a Wii game where my Miis would get infected by a zombie plague and I'd have to shoot them or hack them apart with my Wii mote.$BlogItemBody$>

I learned about Sputnik II in the 3rd grade or so. We were all excited about the whole crazy concept of shooting pets into space, but something bugged me about the story. I could not figure out how they brought the dog back.
They didn't of course.
The scientists had intended to euthanize the animal before her air ran out, but it was revealed recently that Laika only survived about 5 hours into the mission.
It is said that Laika now haunts space and has been known to scratch at the door of the international space station.*
*I'm kidding. That's the ghost of the Buzz Aldrin. He isn't dead yet, but it's Space. Space is weird.$BlogItemBody$>
I posted this information on the Radical Axis Data Information Hub and Disgusting Old Food Collector, but now it is official and can be posted on the web. I won the first annual Channel Frederator award for "Most Likely to be Censored by the FCC" for my heart-warming animation "WTF!?" Thanks again guys for voting for me!
According to their helpful "About Us" section, Channel Frederator is the original cartoon podcast and is run by the folks who made The Fairly OddParents, ChalkZone, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cow and Chicken, The PowerPuff Girls, and many, many more. They didn't make 30Rock, but you should still watch it. Alec Baldwin is hilarious in that.
Due to content, I won't post the acceptance speech or original film here. They are both on my blog if you're interested.$BlogItemBody$>
